Lazuli's Day Out

Some personal work from last month. Inks on watercolour paper, A4.

University work: Serco Competition painting

I wanted to try a different and simple digital style for this project. It is not at all like my usual style, and I'm quite pleased with how the style has turned out. I will be editing this/ adding more to it, but here it is for now.  Edited. Original inspiration comes from Adele's song, Hometown glory and is loosely based on the artist herself.

University work: Editorial drafts

We were tasked to create 4 editorial illustrations based on 4 articles from the Independent (newspaper) that express what the article is about.

An editorial piece for an article about the correlation between language and habits.

An editorial piece for an article about digital security and human honesty.

An editorial piece for an article about accepting failure and anti-inspiration.

An editorial piece for an article about planned parenthood's profits thanks to protesters.

Quick paintings and sketches from holiday

I visited Gran Canaria for 10 days not long ago. Here is some art work I created whilst there.
The upper 3 images have been painted with block watercolours and Derwent's water brush set.
The other images are fast sketches with a pencil.

Dark shadows caress the moon

Social media helped me create this painting! I asked my friends and followers on my facebook profile and page to write a phrase no longer than five words that I could use as a narrative to create an illustration.

The main inspirational phrase is the title of this post and is also the title of the painting.

Other phrases include: "The moon shone brightly", "Whales swam above their heads" and "Blue in a gold world".

The image was painted with inks. I have the illustration available as a print over in my storenvy!

Latest commission

After a very (very, very) long and patient wait by my client, I recently finished this painting of this personal character illustration and her little spider friend just casually relaxing in a scene of mass destruction.
